Entering the World of Chemical Dynamics

The Center for Photochemical Sciences definitely had a major impact on my increased interest in science in general and in the photochemical sciences in particular. I think the Center is one of the best places to make one a real scientist. The environment is ideal for growing from just a curious scholar to the real professional scientist; all you need is a bit of determination. And by environment I mean not only the special courses and programs the Center provides, but also the invaluable research experience the senior members share with their younger colleagues. The atmosphere of professional research, communication, and collaboration inside the Center teaches students how to use their acquired skills more efficiently in the “real world” of science.

I am very grateful to the McMaster Endowment and the Center for the opportunity to be one of the McMaster fellows. The McMaster fellowship is important to me not only in the sense that it gives me more time to work on the research projects, but it also motivates me to do my work better than others. You realize that you are expected to give more than others and it really moves you forward.

After I graduate I would like to get involved with some challenging scientific projects where I can utilize the best of my knowledge and experience gained during the years of training and studying.

My advice to you is: do not lose you interest and determination! Like what you are doing and never be afraid of the hard work, it will pay off generously in the future.
