I can definitely say that the Center met my expectations. The Center offers an excellent Ph.D. program combining strong academic and interdisciplinary research experience. The specialized laboratories are equipped with the most modern instruments that facilitate photochemical research. Furthermore, I am extremely grateful to the McMaster endowment for granting me a fellowship for two consecutive years. This helped me focus entirely on my research, making it more productive. In addition, it gave me the opportunity to attend scientific conferences and meetings, which are an important part of a scientist’s life.

Gaining increased expertise in the photosciences has augmented my interest in the field. I am enthusiastic and eager to achieve outstanding results and make new discoveries. I would like to find an industrial position that utilizes the knowledge and research experience that I gained at the Center for Photochemical Sciences.

I would encourage anyone who is interested in pursuing a career in photochemical sciences to join the Center. It offers high-quality education and research experience. I think that high-school students who are determined to pursue a career in photosciences should take more science classes such as physics, math, and chemistry. These classes will help them build the fundamental knowledge necessary for future work in the photosciences.

Aneta BogdanovaCollege students should read scientific literature in the field of photosciences in order to determine their area(s) of interest. It would be to their advantage if the students met with graduate students and professors from the Center and gain first-hand information for their research.
